File B has a reference set to File A (both xlsm files). For a while, opening file B would automatically open file A - no issues.

Now I have to open file A before opening file B otherwise Excel crashes to desktop and tries to perform a repair on file B - this removes all formatted tables in the file.

Both files are currently quite small (57kb and 99kb), so don't expect it to be some kind of timeout issue.

Any ideas?

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
Do you have other machine(s) that you can test on to see if the behaviour is the same?

Do you have backup copies of the files to test if the behaviour is the same?

Yikes, worked!

Not sure if its due to the files being on a networked location though. Excel wouldn't allow me to add Networked locations to the Trusted locations, so had to manually enable their macros to run.

Any recommendations on how to proceed?

What worked?

Can you make it a Trusted Document instead?
Opening file B opens file A too - as it should, without crashing. No idea why on the pc where the files are stored locally no longer does this.

Sorry, it is not something I have expertise in but look for differences in settings/software on the two machines.
