Is there a slick automated way to create a Gantt chart based on a start and finish date in Excel?

Follow me if you can.....say I imput a timeline header row from july 07 to july 08 from Cells D1-O1

Then in columns B= Start dates and in column C= End dates

I would image there would be some way to imput formulas in cells below the header row of D1-O1 down based on the start and finish date in colums B & C that could enter a value that could be used to conditional format a gantt chart.

Hope this is clear.

Maybe something like this for cell D2.....if cell D1 is not between cell B2 and cell C2 then enter "-", if true then enter "1"
