I would like to know if there is a way to convert HTMLData ( property of a excel web component ) to xls file (binary file) and vice versa.

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
Not quite sure about your question, but www.wotsit.org has binary file specifications for just about everything. Search on XLS and you'll find white papers on the internal format of an Excel file.

Mark,

Take this opportunity to ask if You have any ideas why the lack of programming samples etc in the MSDN and KB for OWC.

The only good source is the book from MS Press "Programming Microsoft® Office 2000 Web Components" - which I yesterday ordered a copy of :)

Kind regards,
Dennis

Sorry it took so long but I didn't realize this your post was an open question.

Anyways, I'm not sure. I've had some luck finding source code examples for the more obvious stuff like email from Excel and creating workbooks.

I know that all of us have the ability and tools to create the KB stuff but it takes time to do on top of the normal business. My guess is that the ones who know are so busy doing code that they don't have time.

Binary File Format.

I did a search regarding Binary file format and found this thread. Figured I'd recycle it instead of starting a new one.

I was wondering if there is any VBA coding that allows to to save a multipage workbook in a binary file format and then reopen it into the excel environment?

My understanding of Binary file is limited. I am under the impression that this method can be used to conserve space with very large files??

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
