Excel Chart with secondary axis

I want to create an Excel graph (chart) with two (or more) sets of data on one axis. I am trying to show a downhole borehole plot with the depth as the Y axis and various chemical elements (contents of the rock in the borehole) along the X axis. I can make a Depth vs (say) copper chart and used to (in Excel 5 and later) be able to add lead, zinc, gold or whatever to plot also on the X axis. Secondary axis in Excel 2007 seems to assume you have a column and want to add a line. I just want a series of lines or points on my chart.
I hope someone can help.
