Hi,

I have a process where I need to compare two excel worksheets for differences. The 2 worksheets should be identical so any differences should be highlighted.

I know there options within excel itself but as this will be a regular process and needs to be undertaken on a large number of worksheets I was wondering would the Mr excel community have any recommendations on excel comparison tools.

Ideally if you could compare entire workbooks containing individual worksheets that would be ideal but worksheet by worksheet would also work .

Any info or tips on this is greatly appreciated.

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
Are there always the same number of rows and columns? If so I can imagine a macro that checks cell by cell and highlights cells in the target worksheet that are not the same as the corresponding cell's value in the source worksheet.

Are the worksheets in the same workbook?

Hi , yes every worksheet name , number of rows ,column and cells should be identical in the workbook. Example workbook 1 contains worksheet 1 and worksheet 2 , workbook 2 will also contain worksheet 1 and worksheet 2 and they should be identical. I need to compare that they are and highlight any differences in workbook 2.
