Excel Copy paste - text

Hai,

I got a New HP Laptop - Windows 8 and installed excel 2007.

In the new machine, if a copy 01.01.2014 and paste (ctrl + V)
system display in decimal points. 0.065671.

In old machine it displays as 01.01.2014.

What excel options i need to change.

In other PC the cell is in general and if i copy as paste, excel paste

as 01.01.2014 still cell format is General.

Change it to Date

Check your windows regional settings your date will probably set up witn / and not a full stop and so it isn't getting recognised as a date.
