Excel data form help

I have a spreadsheet with a column that requires specific input for filtering reasons. An option box, or dropdown list would work fine. My problem is that when I use Data/Form, I can scroll through all the records (good), but can't figure how to force the user to choose a valid entry (bad). Tried making a template, which took way longer than necessary, but while it looks nice (good), I can't scroll and/or edit the data. Is there any way to have the Data/Form employ option buttons, or make the template have the ability to "see" all records (such as with the "Find Next" or "Find Previous" buttons)? Ideally, the template would act as a "window" to the data, allowing additions, deletions or modifications to the data.
I'm pretty new at this, but if someone can start me off in the right direction, I'll have a better idea what I'll have to ask for help on later.
Thanks
