Don't know if this would be more appropriate in a Word forum, but I'm trying to pull a particular Excel 2010 cell as a field (that will be updated) into Word 2010 and when I link it, it adds a hard return after the word field. Any thoughts on if this is a excel issue or a word issue? And anyone have any experience with this?

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
found the solution...

after copying the data from Excel, click on the Paste drop down in the Clipboard section of the Home tab of the ribbon and select Paste Special and then Paste link as unformatted text. the context menu doesn't give this option which is why i missed it in the first place.

just thought i would post in case anyone else had the problem.
