Hi there, i am travelling overseas on business next week and have offered to help a colleague learn Excel. We both enjoy a drink, so I suggested we play some drinking games whlist I teach her Excel.

That got me thinking- how can I use Excel as a drinking game?

First i thought of RANDBETWEEN to return a number- even i drink, odd she drinks. That's a little boring though.

Does anyone have any cool ideas here? Something that's educational AND allows us to consume vast amounts of liquor?

Please note this is a light hearted discussion and is not to be taken seriously. All ideas are welcome, not matter how silly they are

Thanks

Excel Facts

Test for Multiple Conditions in IF?
Use AND(test, test, test, test) or OR(test, test, test, ...) as the logical_test argument of IF.
i would say and true or false on ? about Excel.

or may be like battel ship game were you have a grid were both set up your ships are number with the text format white and after the cell Text turn blue like water and then you take turn type in msg boxes columns and row to see if you get a hit like G3. each miss you drank.

I saw those VBA games. We won't be touching on VBA, it's too advanced for her. So I wanted to use regular formula's for this to familiarise her with what's available.

Thanks

Hi moppy_j,

A twist on a game we used play called "Suburbs" might be an idea. Starting at "A", participants would take turns to rattle off suburbs they knew of that started with that letter such as (also being from Sydney these will sound familiar):

Auburn
Alexandria
Arncliffe etc

A suburb can only be named once and this would go on until someone gets stuck at which time they would have to have a drink. Then the game started again at "B".

Instead of suburbs you could use Excel functions, i.e.

ADDRESS
AND
AVERAGE etc

HTH
