I receive the following two errors when I use MS Excel. I am running Windows XP Pro on a Dell Laptop (Inspiron 8200) 256 RAM 80 Gig HD.

The first error only appears when I initially open Excel:

Microsoft Visual Basic
"compile error in hidden module:AutoExecNew"

I receive the next error only when I close Excel

Microsft Visual Basic
"compile error in hidden moduele:DistMon"

If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Thanks,
Vernon

Perhaps you could also try a different copy of the installation source of office due to the possibility that the install source could be corrupted

Hmm, I have it on CD. I did make a backup of the CD a long time ago. I will look for the backup CD and try installing it off that and see what happens.

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
I found my backup copy and uninstalled it and reinstalled it and I am still getting the same errors.

Any more ideas please?

Ok. I went to the last resort that I know of other then formating my hard drive and I am not going to do that.

I completely uninstalled Microsoft Office and then deleted the Microsoft Office folder. Then I reinstalled it and it still does not work.

Does anyone have any other ideas?
