Excel Formula - Subtract

Hello everyone,

I have a formula question:

In cell A1 I have the value 121
I want to take each of the 3 numbers and subtract but as a final result want only a positive number
Example:

1-2 = 1
1-1 = 0

Result = 0 This is the result I'm looking for.

The normal method:
1-2 = -1
-1 - 1 = +2

-1 - 1 = -2, not +2.

If your A1 value is always 3 digits, then try:

There are lots of ways to get 0 from 121, taking each digit individually:

=SUM(MID(A1,{1,2,3},1)*{1,-1,1})

=SUM(MID(A1,{1,2,3},1)*{-1,1,-1})

=ABS(ABS(LEFT(A1)-MID(A1,2,1))-RIGHT(A1))

or even

=MOD(A1,11)

What are you trying to do? Do you have more examples?
