Excel formula to convert to text

Hi everyone

I have a column that contain ID codes of mixed alphas and numericals, e.g.:

983749
PRF399484
AODSK12
876

In an adjacent column, I would like to convert these uniformly into TEXT using a formula. 'TEXT' does not seem to work and high-comma does not work without search and replace. There has to be an obvious way to achieve this.

My primary problem lies with two different ranges of ID codes. I would like to use a MATCH() function between these ignoring any formats Excel automatically defaults to numbers

Thanks in advance

Excel Facts

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
Both will work, I like the =A1&"" option (simple)
That method also has the advantage of leaving a value like 12-08-34 as is whereas the TEXT formula will convert it to a date serial number (both formulas convert a true date to its date serial number though).
