Hello - I'm having a hard time figuring out the Excel formula for the scenario below:
Known:
a = $140,000
b = 10%
c = $154,000
Formula: =a+(a*b) = c
$140,000+($140,000*10%) = $154,000
Scenario: I want to produce the same outcome ($154,000) with adjusted variables. If I drop the value of b to 5%, what is the formula to calculate the adjusted value of a?
a = unknown
b = 5%
c = $154,000
a+(a*5%) = $154,000 *Obviously this is not the formula, I'm just trying to illustrate what I need help figuring out - which is the value of "a"
Thanks in advance!
