I have come across this formula and I am interested in what the symbols in the quotations are meaning.

=SUMIF($C$26:$C$916,"<>"&"",H$26:H$916)

No! when you are using an exact match, the VLOOKUP table can be in any order. Best-selling items at the top is actually the best.
Sort by date Sort by votes
Adding the cells specified by a given condition or criteria

Dataset is C26:C916 and when formula is dragged that is always the dataset/range

"<>" & "" is looking for <> in text format which is the criteria (the if in sumif)

then the last part is the summed range and always the sum range
