hello mr excel,

i trying to create a formula that allows me to place a value in column a as follows

e.g 450 and have the answer come up in column b but the calculation i require
is as follows

any number greater than 300 in need to multiply by 0.24

your help would be greatly appreciated

### Excel Facts

How to find 2nd largest value in a column?
MAX finds the largest value. =LARGE(A:A,2) will find the second largest. =SMALL(A:A,3) will find the third smallest
Try this...

=IF(A2>300,0.24*A2,A2)

g'day rick,

sorry i didn't quite explain my self properly

i need the remainder calculated, anything over 300

hope you can help again

Maybe this...

=IF(A2>300,0.24*(A2-300),0) <!-- / message -->

thank you very much rick,

i would never have got that
