Excel formulas arent automated

When I make a formula in my excel, it doesnt automate. How can I make it so that it does. Basically everytime I open a book, I have to go to the cell with the formula, then click in the formula bar and hit enter, then if that is linked to any other cells with formulas I have to go to those and do the same thing just to get the formulas to run.

Any thoughts...

Check in Tools>Options>Calculations to see whether it is set to Manual. If so change it to Automatic.
