Why are some of my excel functions in a foreign language?
Finnish, French and whos knows what else and are supposed to be in English.
They are in addition to the regular functions
Example: "=BoîteDialogueSolveurFinir(" which translates from French to BoxDialogSolverFinish

Excel Facts

What is the last column in Excel?
Excel columns run from A to Z, AA to AZ, AAA to XFD. The last column is XFD.
I guess that these extra functions are made available by some AddIn that you installed on your Excel.

@mole999 System language makes no difference in this case, I see the same as the OP, as do many other people who have been unable to find a solution to the problem. The functions are not there instead of the English equivalents, they are there in addition to them.

The problem only applies to solver functions (if the solver add in is enabled), regular worksheet functions all appear in the default system language as normal. If you go to Formulas > Insert Function, then change the dropdown to User Defined they all appear there, scrolling through the list, the functions appear to be about 10 different languages, my system settings have never been anything other than UK English.

You are correct. System language does not matter and they are coming from the Solver Pack.
Too bad we cannot delete them.

Thank you!
