Hi All;

I've got a weird question. I'm having trouble with a data dump; specifically summing a column. Currently my =sum(E2:E12) returns a 0 result. i.e.

Pizza 100
Wings 100
Pop 100
Sum 0

However If I manually click on each cell with a value (all of the 100's above) and press F2 enter then the sum formula works properly.

It appears to be a case of formatting, but seeing as this file is overwritten daily I'm trying to avoid having to manually refomat every day.

All thoughts are appreciated,

Derek

By code. The macro opens another workbook then copy/pastes the worksheet in as a data dump. I have no control over the data source workbook as its received from a vendor.

Thanks for the reply; your thoughts are appreciated.

It's "Numbers Stored As Text"

Very common issue.

Highlight the whole column.
Click Data - Text To Columns
Select Deliminated
Click Finish

Hope that helps.

there's your problem, it's pasting all rather than just values. Can you post the code here?
