Hey All

My version of Excel 2010 has started automatically putting a single apostrophe at the start of every cell I type in except numbers and I can't work out how to stop it :-/

I've only noticed because it's started effecting code in one of my books where a cell gets a value tested and it started giving me an error message around it. Obviously the cell looks blank but Excel must be seeing it as a text value.

So, I can open a new instance of Excel, type in cell A1 BLAH - Then the formula bar will show 'BLAH when I look.

It looks to be effecting the past couple of days Workbooks so I'm not sure what I was working on or how it could have happened :(

Has anyone come across this before and no how to stop it?

Thanks

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Never mind, fixed it.

I went to Excel > Options > Advanced Options - Then scrolled all the way to the bottom to the Transition (Lotus Compatibility) options, they where all unticked, so I ticked them.

Went back to the Worksheet and it was still doing it, so I went and unticked them all again.

And now it's working fine again.

Odd.

Anyway - Solution there now if it helps anyone in the future :)
