I have a 2 page spreadsheet, in which 1st sheet has the info, and 2nd has the records of withdrawals, have can enter on on one line and it would edit the quantity on the first page.
ie. item number 001 handbag quantity 1
second sheet
item number 001 quantity 1,
then it would minus the first sheet the stated quantity. it has to tally against the first sheet and item number, all primary keys.

hope this makes sense

Excel Facts

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
Welcome to the Board, Alex!

Take a look at the bottom of the page for the link to Colo's HTML Maker.

It will allow you to post a representative example of your sheets, then everyone can see what your working with.

Item Code Location Item Category Allocation Status 061 test test test 5 Used
this is sheet 1 above
then on sheet two i want to put a record of withdrawal stating item code and quantity removed, thus adjusting the stock allocation on sheet 1.
i was think maybe a IF (item code = column sheet 1) then minus quantity from Sheet 1 allocation cell

hope this makes more sense
