Excel If function

hi gurus, How to write a forumula which returns TRUE or FALSE based on a condition

My condition is:

If a cell say A2 = "red" or "Green" or "Yellow" then TRUE else FALSE

I did not find any Inlist kind of function in Excel....any ideas?

Are these fill/font colors or do the cells contain the words "Red", "Green", or "Yellow"? And do you want to use this in another formula? Is that why you want to return TRUE or FALSE? If so, which formula?

If your referring the the value of the cell and not a fill color, try this for one criteria:

=A2="Red"

if you are looking for a list to work:

=OR(A2="red",A2="green",A2="yellow")
