Below is a table. I'm trying to pick 4 teams with whose points value add up to 52 or less with the greatest amount of Avg Wins. Let me know what other information I could provide. I'm not just posting to find out the answer, I want to learn how to figure it out in excel.

Excel Facts

Select all contiguous cells
Pressing Ctrl+* (asterisk) will select the "current region" - all contiguous cells in all directions.

I think I would;

(Assuming the above is in columns A:C) Add another column, Wins Per Pt, the formula in the first cell being =C2/B2.

Add another column showing the rank of the Wins Per Pt column.

Sort by the rank column.

Although not a dead cert (sometimes of course it's better adding two smaller values and there being no 'leftover' space rather than adding one large value and then not having space for more) its quite probable that the entries you want are the top ones.

Best regards
Richard

I think i'm looking for how to write a script that will brute force test all possible combinations since the points have to be equal or less than 52.

thanks

Did you try my suggestion above? I did, it took about a minute to get the answer.
