Hi

I am taking a feed from a trading platform into an excel spreadsheet.
The figures that are coming in are in millions i.e. 136,805,014.62.
What i am trying to do is instead of the above number showing up, i would like that column to display this and the other numbers as 136.8
and a 56,123,456.0 to show as 56.1 (i.e. 56.1 million) i was looking under cells formatting using custom but it didn't seem to be working, is there a way to do it or would i be better off using a formula to convert the data?

thanks

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
Hi Rob

Are you using the following:

#,##0.0,,;-#,##0.0,,

This should do what you weant, as long as Excel is recognising these numbers as numbers and not as text.
