In a non-olap pivot table, the page field drop down shows only those values for which there is data available. For example if I have sales for only 1st april 2010 and 2nd April 2010, and i have connected the sales data to a date dimension table showing dates of last 25 years, then the drop down of dates in the pivot table will show me only 1st april and 2nd april.

however if i have made the same pivot table in ssas, then i get all the dates of the last 25 years in the drop down.

is there any mechanism by which the drop downs of each field in a pivot table shows only those values for which there is data available ?

is there some setting at ssas side or excel pivot table side which i am missing ? i am using excel 2007, ssas 2008.

i very urgent reply will be highly appreciated.
