Excel online and External data connection

Does Excel Online (not Desktop) have robust external data connection capabilities like Google Sheet?

I like to avoid Excel desktop and use Excel Online only to connect with other third-party data sources, but I can't seem to find any custom data connection tools add-ins for Excel Online.

When will MS expand Excel Online's native data analytics capabilities by adding an online version of MS Query or Power Query tools? And what some workarounds?

At the moment Al, you're simply SOL! The only solution here is to get MS 365 on a Windows computer running Windows 10 or 11.

No one here can answer the "When?" question!
