When I open my Excel (v.2408, Build 17928-20114), it automatically opens this one file. It's not even a file I'm interested in. I want to make it stop and just open Excel, no files on open. How do I do that???

Excel Facts

Workdays for a market open Mon, Wed, Friday?
Yes! Use "0101011" for the weekend argument in NETWORKDAYS.INTL or WORKDAY.INTL. The 7 digits start on Monday. 1 means it is a weekend.
Welcome to the MrExcel board!

Try this:
In Excel have a look in
File -> Options -> Advanced -> Scroll to bottom and look for ..

Look at the path to the right of that and the file that opens is likely in that path. If so, move it out of that path or else remove the path from the box at the right.

Cross-posting (posting the same question in more than one forum) is not against our rules, but the method of doing so is covered by #13 of the Forum Rules.

Be sure to follow & read the link at the end of the rule too!

Cross posted at: Default file opened on startup
There is no need to repeat the link(s) provided above but if you have posted the question at other places, please provide links to those as well.

If you do cross-post in the future and also provide links, then there shouldn’t be a problem.

Well, ... I found it; but as you can see, the field is blank. Hmmmmmmm.

Could it be a Registry setting? If so, any idea as to which ones??
Thanks.

Do you have any files in the default start up location, which will be something like
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel\XLSTART\
