Excel Opening Problems

Hi All,

I am having great problems with opening Excel workbooks stored on my companies server. For the past week Excel opens but then hangs on the grey screen. After a few minutes it reports as not responding however, if I leave it for over 20 minutes it opens.

By the way, I am a remote user so have to log on to the server from home.

I can copy the files from the server to my laptops C drive and open them without a problem.

I know this is not exactly the sort of issue normally raised on here but I have tried everywhere else.

Thanks to anyone who has suggestions.

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
It sounds like it is an issue with your connection on one end or the other. Try posting the spreadsheet on Google Docs, password protected, and accessing it from home. If that works, might try to FTP the file. I'm not sure what protocol you are using. Good luck!
