Excel opening read only - syncing issues with Microsoft Teams & OneDrive

Hi All,

We recently installed Microsoft Teams at work.
Small company with about 15 users.
A colleague of mine and I both have Excel Professional 2019.
All other users have 365.

When the 2 of us that have Professional 2019 try to either open an workbook through OneDrive or try to Open In Desktop App from Teams the workbook will open as read only and won't sync.

Has anyone had that issue and is it to do with the licence we have.
