Is it possible to impose advanced settings on a spreadsheet when a user opens it up?

I have switched off the "chart - show data point values on hover" but that only applies to the settings on my PC and not the spreadsheet.

I want this option to switch off for each user when they open the spreadsheet on their PC and then revert back when they close it.

Can this be done?

Try placing the code below into workbook_open and workbook_before close events. Note that the workbook must be macro enabled (.xlsm extension if using Excel 2007 or later version) and macros must be enabled.
Code:
Private Sub Workbook_BeforeClose(Cancel As Boolean)
With Application
    .ShowChartTipNames = True
    .ShowChartTipValues = True
End With
End Sub

Private Sub Workbook_Open()
With Application
    .ShowChartTipNames = False
    .ShowChartTipValues = False
End With
End Sub
