Excel patcher

Hi,

Is it possible to create an excel patcher?
I mean, I have multiple excel file that uses one format, I made a slight error in the formula on the template, and if I have to update that template I have to redo all the files. Is there a way wherein I can make a patcher that will correct all the formula needed rather than redo everything?

You could use a macro to make the changes.

what is an xla file by the way, i was planning to distribute like an xla file and have them run the macro to patch the errors. would that work?

An xla file is an Add-In. But an ordinary xls could do the job.
