We have a couple of reports that refresh against a sql server table. It works fine however there are now 2 million rows in these tables. The pivot takes a minute or 2 to refresh...we only need to refresh it once a week, its then saved on a share. The file size is now about 70,000KB. Surprisingly, at least to me, it opens in 15 - 30 seconds or less, after the first manipulation of the pivot...which might take 15 seconds..subsequent manipulations are almost instantaneous.

Thetable is getting bigger but we like having all the data our finger tips..in fact we are spoiled with this set up. Is there a limit to how many rows the pivot can process from this linked table?
