Excel Pivot showing "sum of" instead of actual "value"

Hi...I have played with this and researched and cannot find how to fix this.
I have many columns of data but the one column I need, it is giving me the sum of the column instead of the actual values I need to be charted.
I got rid of all blanks, I have zeros in where there would be blanks, I even moved the column.
When I go to field settings, there is no option to just simply select value.
UGH!. Not great with pivots here but spent too much time with this problem.
How do I force pivot to read the actual "value" of the cell, not "sum of"?

Pivot tables are there to do maths. If you place a field in the values area it will do maths on it. Try it in the rows area.

Thank You.....I placed it in the rows field but did not chart. I will keep working with it. The values area advice helped me also....thanks.

Ok...I got it.
I had to insert a column, just named it data point, started with 1 and ended with 1404. slid the data point over into the axis, and the value I wanted to chart into the values.
So it summed the one data point which is actually the value of that one data point.
Understanding what the values field did, the math, made the difference! Thanks so much for the help!
