Excel problem when executed from Javascript

Hi,

I have an excel file that I open via Javascript. I can open the spreadsheet but some of the commands will not execute. I want to populate a cell with the current date but the cell is locked. I try to unprotect the worksheet, unlock the cell, set the date and lock/protect the cell/worksheet again. The code will not execute. So, I decided I could set the date in the cell in Javascript. I can do this as long as I leave the cell unlocked. Problem is when I set the date, I want the cell to be locked so the user can not change the date. Again, the code will not execute to lock the cell.

Any suggestion???

Thanks,
Lisa
