I hope that I am asking this question correctly, but just curious how or what format is used to allow an excel-based file to receive updates. I have a program that is Excel-based that gets updates from the developer and when the program receives and update, usually a newer version, the existing file data in the files created by the program remains unchanged. Any help or direction is appreciated.

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Rename the old file and copy data of it to the new one.
