I have a user who has a spreadsheet with positive and negative numbers. He made a mistake on the sheet and wants to reverse the values in certain columns and/or rows.

I rememebr that there was an easy way to do this but it's slipping my mind at this point.

He's using OfficeXP and any help would be appreciated.

You can put a negative one in a cell... copy that cell.... then highlight the range you want to change... do paste special and choose multiply.

1 becomes -1
-1 becomes 1

To reverse negative/positive put -1 in an empty cell, copy the cell, select the range with the values to change, goto Paste Special and select Multiply from the Operation section.

Are all the cells continuous, where it is easy to select the entire range that need to be changed? Maybe with Edit | Go To | Special | Constants?

If you put a -1 in an empty cell, select all the values you want to change (see above), you can highlight the cell with -1, select Copy, then select Edit | Paste Special | Multiply and click OK.

EDIT: Boy, I need to learn to type faster!

Thanks. I thought it had to do with paste special but I forgot about the multiply option.
