I'm trying to put two main rows in the same column. What i mean is that i want to be able to adjust the column size for each row. So i will basically have 2 main rows in one column.

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
I'm not sure I understand: do you want to split up a column into two separate columns? Or something else?

Is there some "rule" as to where to split them?

If it is always at the same spot (i.e. the 5th character) or there is some delimiter (i.e. comma), then you can use the Text to Columns functionality under the Data menu to split one column into two columns.
