When I launch Excel and click Developer, Excel stays open for a long time, 10 minutes at least. If I then insert a module, Excel will quit within a minute. This is a blank module in a blank workbook. Their is no code involved and Excel quits on that. If I open an xlsm or xlsb file and do not click Developer, the file will stay open. If, however, I click Developer and the module windows with codes appears, Excel quits within a minute. In summary, Excel will stay open if Developer is clicked but no module window appears on screen. If a module windows appears, with or without codes, Excel quits. This means I have less than one minute to work on codes. Does anybody have this kind of experience?

This is Excel 2010 on Windows 10. All macros have been enables and Trust access to VBA projects is checked.

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
I found the answer. Check out this link.

control panel >> Region >> Administrative tab >> change system locale >> untick the box " Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for
world wide language support" .
