Excel seems to open whenever it wants to.

I am running windows 10 and when i am in another program (it doesn't matter what program), excel decides to open. There is no pattern of what is running on my computer, or any timing. It may start up in the middle of a game, or any other application. I can shut it down and it may start again within minutes or hours. I have gone into settings and made sure it wasn't set to run at start up and now am at wits end. So far it hasn't caused any problems other than frustration. Anybody have any ideas how to stop this?

Excel Facts

Which came first: VisiCalc or Lotus 1-2-3?
Dan Bricklin and Bob Frankston debuted VisiCalc in 1979 as a Visible Calculator. Lotus 1-2-3 debuted in the early 1980's, from Mitch Kapor.
do you have any timers built into excel, or default workbooks with timers

Not that I know of, I haven;t put any in, I don;t know how to put as timer. It doesn't open up in any of my work sheets, just a new blank sheet.

I've gone completely through Task Manager and find no references to Excel under any tab.
