I have a macro enabled spreadsheet that I do every week.

The normal size is about 2-3MB

The spreadsheet contains 6 tab of 26 rows, and about 700 lines, with formulas on every tab.

I recently added another macro, but not a huge task.

All of the sudden the spreadsheet is 30 MBs, and I can figure out why .

Anything I should be looking for?

NEW INFO:

I just realized that one of my tabs, which goes to A to AA, and down to row 729, now goes to XFB,731

I have tried deleting the extra columns and using the clear contents command. However, when I do an end home, that is still the end point of the spreadsheet.

This has to be at least related to the problem, no?

Excel Facts

Highlight Duplicates
Home, Conditional Formatting, Highlight Cells, Duplicate records, OK to add pink formatting to any duplicates in selected range.

For others who will search for a solution to a similar issue, what was your solution ?

when deleting the columns and using clear contents failed, I went simple, and just select all the extra columns/rows, and right clicked, and selected delete.

Deleting the rows or columns has no effect until the file is saved.

Highlighting the superfluous rows or columns can be a bind if there are a lot of them. What I would do is press F5 for goto and type AB1:XFB1. Then right click, delete, entire column. No doubt someone has a better method.

Same here...mine exploded to 34Mb....When I filled the entire worksheet with black colour.... the size was 300Kb....wrote a macro to fill 5 columns x 999999 rows with white... the size exploded to 34Mb
