Excel Versions with Macro Buttons

Have recently returned to Excel after a number of years and have started to write a few spreadsheets again. I used a friends PC with the (it would seem) rather antiquated version 5, which doesn't have macro buttons, which I do rather need for my latest spreadsheet. I don't really have a lot of money to buy the latest version, so does anyone know which is the oldest version of excel I would need to buy in order to have macro buttons (I don't really need it to do much else)?

Many thanks

Paul
