Excel with Data Warehouse

I have an Excel 2010 spreadsheet, with a chart, that is linked to a data warehouse. I would like to take the chart from the source worksheet and put it on another worksheet. The second chart will need to show any updates to the data from the data warehouse. So far, I have tried copy and the shift+paste, to no avail. This works on my test workbooks which are not connected to the data warehouse. Suggestions? Does the data warehouse affect this working?

I've also tried: Create an external reference (link) to a cell range in another workbook - Excel
"Creating an external reference to another workbook"
