excel word recognition formula

I have a question regarding word recognition and pricing. I want to create a master document that i can "save as" new price guides where i enter a product name and a price pops up. Currently I use a sheet that i manually enter the product in the A column and an quantity of that product in B and then in C i have to manually enter the price based on looking through a catalogue. I have a formulate that produces the price in D (=b*c) Is there a way to create a master data base that every time i write the product in A... say "Apple" the formula in C recognizes it and automatically updates with an individual price? Basically i want to just write "Apple" in A and Quantity "10" in B and C auto locates the price per apple and D auto updates with =b*c.
