Is there a way to put 'letters' on the Y-Axis instead of numbers. I have a list of names with corresponding a, b, c, d, etc., and would like the Y-axis to reflect which letter corresponds to the person. Is this possible?

Thanks in advance and have a nice day.

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
Table in Excel?

Not sure what you mean by this when you say 'table'. The only 'table' feature I know of is in Word. Please explain ... or is my brain just not working yet this morning?

Imagine a spreadsheet such as this:
In cell A1, enter Name: In cell B1, enter Letter
In cell A2, enter Adam : In cell B2, enter a
In cell A3, enter Buck : In cell B2, enter b
In cell A4, enter Jack : In cell B2, enter c
and so on. This, to me, looks like a table.

But, the question is, would this be suitable for your purposes?

You can simulate the effect with a dummy series. Jon Peltier has an example on his site. You will have to search for it at www.peltiertech.com
