I have these annoying ########### characters in my cells. I have turned on word wrap and looked through all the formating options. I just want the text to display. How do I get that to happen?

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
i think that just means that the data in the cell is longer than the cell length. You can either double click on the vertical line in between the columns (i.e. the "|" between the letters on the column heads), or you can select the cell and choose format>column>autofit selection.

does that help at all?

Sounds as if your columns are too narrow. Go to the column heading, on the right side, and double click that divider. It should change its width to allow the text to be read.

Are you sure that it is text? Normally, text will spillover to another cell (or wrap if this is activated).

Are doing something like a timesheet and have negative time? If so, there is a solution to get rid of the hash marks.

Mike
