Excess Dates Under Filter Options

Hello,

I needed to create a chart/dashboard utilizing mock data for a visual presentation. So I utilized fake date information "7/18, 7/19, 7/20, etc". I finished the charts/dashboards.

Then the real data came in. I blew out the old data and put in the new data. Now, the filters show all of the old mock dates, even though there is no data that matches the date. I'd like this filter to only show dates that actually have matching data (7/2, 7/8, 7/17). (See screenshot below).

I know that I could recreate the chart/dashboard, but it was a painstaking process to get every line and marker the correct color and width, so I'd prefer to avoid that unless it is truly my only option (in which case, I may just say screw it).

Any thoughts on a quick way to fix this?

Thank you for any help/suggestions.

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
The autofilter should only values that are in that column, so the first question is, are you sure those values are not in the column?
Also I suspect that they are actually text & not real dates.

Hello Fluff,

The values were originally in the data set (column) when I created the pivot. I have since deleted those dates. It is like those dates are cached into the pivot/system, and I want to remove/refresh the cache.

The format of the cells is Date -> *3/14/2012 (Format)

Thanks for any additional thoughts you might have.

You never mentioned anything about pivots & as I've never used them I cannot help any further.
