hi,

i've had a lot of help to this point, but i am stuck on the following point:

i need to exclude red colored cells in myrange before using, i.e. not have them part of the calculation:

Application.WorksheetFunction.StDev(MyRange)

tia,

Rob

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
won't work as it still deals with single occurences. i need the ability to apply that worksheet function to the range of cells within myrange that are not red.

maybe it is impossible?

or i need a whole new way of thinking about it?
