When applying a simple filter, Excel excludes the header row from the filter. This is great. I have a long spreadsheet so have moved the TOTAL rows to rows 2 and 3. I'd now like these rows excluded from the filter, but with the little filter arrows still appearing in the top header row. Is this possible?

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
Would this work for you?

Insert 2 new rows at the top so the headers (& filter arrows) are now in row 3.
Move the two total rows to the new rows 1 & 2

I had thought the same...as Plan B! It might have to do if there's no other way. I'm not a fan of filtering but am being forced to come on board. Frustrating that I can't have the sheet protected and still filter.

Why not?
