Execel 97 Crases when trying to copy paste formula

hi all,

i am stuck with this for some time now and could not find any thing online.

can anyone help me with this.

Execel 97 Crashs when trying to copy paste few cell with vlookup formula, tried reinstalling the same but no luck.

i tried to selecte the cell and drag still it gives the same error, but if i copy the cells right click and select paste specail and select only values it pastes perfectly, but i want the formulas.

one more thing it works fine in office 2003, 2007 and 2010.

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).

Is your lookup, by chance, to another Workbook? If so try opening this workbook before doing yuor copy/paste.

I believe the problem you are mentioning is to do with returning a lookup value of more than 255 characters.
