I have 2 cells: one with a date of activation (ie: January 5, 2011) and the other with the date of expiration (ie: January 4, 2012). I would like to set it up so when it is 30 days from the term expiry, a notice would come up stating "30 days until expiry".
I would sure appreciate some help on this.
Thanks

Excel Facts

What is the fastest way to copy a formula?
If A2:A50000 contain data. Enter a formula in B2. Select B2. Double-click the Fill Handle and Excel will shoot the formula down to B50000.
What kind of notification? Do you want it to send an email? or just have it in a different cell?

Suppose your date of expiry is in B1

Put this in C1
=IF(B1-NOW() <= 30, "30 days until expiry", "")

Also consider applying conditional formatting on the enddates.

Green: Cell value Greater than = today()+30
Amber: Cell value between =today()+1 and =today()+30
Red: Cell value Less than or equal to = today()+30
