Exporting to Excel

Hello,

I'm using Excel 2003 and when exporting data from Access to Excel I cant export more than around 10,000 lines - any idea why or solutions?

How exactly are you exporting the data? Through a Macro or VBA code or copy & paste? If Macro or VBA code, please list the syntax you are using.

Thanks for the reply Joe, I only export the data via copy and paste or through the office links icon within Access.

I believe that is a limitation of Copy & Paste.

Try using a macro, specifically the TransferSpreadsheet action. It is pretty easy. Just fill out the arguments it asks for. There is a description of each one and F1 provides even further explanation.

If you have memo fields in the data you are pasting to Excel, they will be truncated to just 255 characters. You'll not know it happened unless you look for it. The only way to avoid it is to use the Export feature of Access. If you don't have any memo fields, there's no problem with pasting.
